Lineage

How has Queer musical identity been passed on through generation to generation?

When we talk about community, this is important because while these composers are great people in the field of music, they were also simply that: people. People who shared their lives through their music and through each other. What can we learn from the social input they all had on one other during their lives? What can we learn from most of them living a double life while they were making their art while Composers nowadays get to make art while expressing their individuality (hopefully)? What kind of art will certain artists make now that certain queer identities have been erased on a federal level? LAC seeks to explore these questions through showcasing certain compositions that have direct correlation to the written and shared letters music because these composers. Music was a part of their identity and with identity we cannot hide ourselves, nor our art. Queer identities have always existed therefore, they can never be erased.
